Learn how to perfect shallots (green onion) as a garnish with Chef Jodie!

1. Use some scissors to chop off the top green halves of the shallots, the part you would throw away when cooking the white half.

2. Place a couple of shallots together and cut on a long angle to produce long rings.

3. Another technique is to cut into a couple of shorter batons, and cut very thinly long ways to get fine long pieces.

4. Place these fine long pieces into a bowl of cold water and put in the fridge for around 10 minutes, or add some ice cubes. The shallots will curl up and look great as a garnish.
